House Meetings

Public meetings in the traditional sense – unless they are of a protest nature – do not seem popular these days. In any case as a forum for exchange of views they are not ideal. People often feel nervous about standing up and speaking in such formal circumstances.

I am always ready to attend private and informal gatherings held in people’s houses. If a constituent wishes to bring together a small number of friends and neighbours (maybe around twelve) to meet me in relaxed surroundings, I would be happy to make myself available. A range of topics and questions could be raised. I have often found this a friendly and instructive type of discussion in which people find it comfortable to express their views.

Anyone who would be interested in trying to arrange such a meeting in the constituency is invited to ring my constituency office on 01799 506349, or email office@saffronwaldenconservatives.com.
